Welcome to Fresh x Espresso

Hey, hey - so happy you joined me today! I’m Rachael, a Texas gal raised in Dallas, residing in Houston, and occasionally making moves in Austin.

I’m a woman of many interests -

  • delicious food from the melting pot of cultures that live in this huge state

  • tasty drinks crafted by talented and amateur mixologists (it’s me, I’m the amateur)

  • cool destinations across Texas’ major cities

  • and creative writing that helps highlight the life and leisure I’m privileged to have

What to expect on Fresh x Espresso

I’m a God-fearing woman who goes to church on Sundays before brunch and pencils in a bible study before dinner or happy hour. While you’re sure to find lifestyle blog posts about food, drinks, travel and leisure, I know the life I’m privileged to live is because of God and I’m humbled yet proud to share it. I’m in this world - but not of it - and my hope is you see God in what I choose to share on this blog.

What does Fresh x Espresso mean?

I earned my degree from the University of Houston, but moved back home to Dallas after I graduated and have lived there my entire postgraduate career. In 2024 I decided to move back to Houston to have a change of pace and scenery, so I’m calling this move a fresh start (hence the “Fresh” in Fresh x Espresso). Combine that with espresso martinis, the go-to cocktail I order when I’m out at restaurant or bar, birthed the name “Fresh x Espresso”, symbolizing my new or renewed experiences.
