Rosemary Margarita Mocktail

Who doesn’t love a good margarita? It’s a classic drink that fits any occasion. With its bright lime flavor and balance of sweetness, it pairs deliciously with a variety of dishes and settings.

But, if you’re not drinking alcohol, does that mean you have to miss out on this tasty drink? Nope! Sometimes I want a margarita without the effects of tequila, so I created a sober-friendly version that still tastes like the real thing—not just fancy lime juice.

In this blog post, I’m sharing a non-alcoholic margarita recipe that’s great for any occasion. What I like best about this recipe is the hint of rosemary added to the drink for an elevated flavor. It’s a refreshing option for anyone, whether you’re wanting a mocktail or prefer to add a bit of booze to this recipe. If you’re looking for a mocktail margarita option, or just a really good margarita recipe, give this one a try.

About the Rosemary Margarita Mocktial

I learned how to make this drink while I was sober curious last year. Like a true Texas gal, I love a good margarita, especially when I’m eating tacos from my favorite taco spot and/or vegan queso. This mocktail version is becoming a favorite to make and can easily be turned into a cocktail. It’s refreshing and doesn’t taste like a cheap, syrupy version that can be too sweet.

This recipe is made with the following ingredients…

  • Rosemary
Fresh is best. I strongly suggest not using dried leaves for this recipe.

  • Lime juice
Fresh squeezed is going to hit better every time, but bottled works fine for this recipe.

  • Simple syrup
I like making my own simple syrup (which is just adding 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of boiling water until the sugar melts), but any simple syrup you like will work.

  • Non-alcoholic tequila
You can use whatever non-alcoholic tequila you prefer! Ritual is a popular brand you can find at Spec’s, Total Wine, and on Amazon.

  • Kin Euphorics Kin Spritz
This ingredient is my triple sec replacement. It has the orange and citrus flavor you want from triple sec without the alcohol and overly sweet and syrupy taste. It also has adaptogens which promotes calmness and can help with relaxation. I found this brand at my local H-E-B. You can also find it on Amazon.

  • Sparkling or mineral water
Use your favorite sparkling water for this recipe. Mine is S. Pellegrino.

A note about the recipe

Before we dive into the recipe, I want to take moment to share something important: while I have a dietician who helps with my personal health and wellness goals, I am not one myself. Because of this, I don’t provide detailed nutrition facts or count calories for my recipes. I hope you can understand - it’s important for me to stay within my lane as a creator and make it known that I’m not a trained professional in this field.

That said, I do my best to offer rough estimates of serving sizes. However, these are based on how I enjoy these recipes and it may not align perfectly with your preferences or needs. If precise nutritional information is essential to you, trust, I understand! I’ll always include measurements for all the ingredients, so you’re welcome to calculate the details that matter most to you.
