Lemon Drop Martini Mocktail

The Lemon Drop martini is a classic cocktail that gets straight to the point. With only a few ingredients, the martini’s simplicity is quick and easy to make, giving a crisp balance of tart lemon and subtle sweetness. This cocktail is one I gravitate to when I’m hosting. It’s hard to mess up and I can make them fast for a group of people.

For my sober friends, I hate leaving them out when I’m serving drinks. So, I created a mocktail version of this martini that’s delicious and allows them to still be included in the festivities.

In this blog post, I share a sober-friendly Lemon Drop martini recipe that still tastes like the real thing - not just fancy lemonade.

About the Lemon Drop Martini Mocktail

I talk about why the cocktail version of this drink was a previous drink of choice for my birthday last year in my Tequila Lavender Lemon Drop blog post recipe. But, similar to that cocktail, what makes this Lemon Drop Martini mocktail stand out is the non-alcoholic spirit of choice.

For Lemon Drops, I prefer tequila over vodka, so this recipe was created with that in mind. What’s great about the recipe is that it’s easily customizable, so whatever spirit alternative you prefer, it still works! I use Ritual Tequila Alternative for this recipe, but I’ve also used Bax Botanics Lemon Verbena before that works deliciously with these rest of the flavors. This brand is a little harder to find though. I was able to find it at my local non-alcoholic spirits shop. They do ship, so if you’re not in the Houston area and would like to try this brand or any non-alcoholic spirit brand, they probably have it. I recommend shopping with them (and supporting a small business).

This recipe is made with the following ingredients…

  • Lemon juice

Fresh squeezed is going to taste better every time, but bottled works well for this recipe too.

  • Simple syrup
I like making my own simple syrup (which is just adding 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of boiling water until the sugar melts), but any simple syrup you like will work.

  • Non-alcoholic tequila (or whatever non-alcoholic spirit you prefer!)
You can use whatever non-alcoholic tequila you prefer! Ritual is a popular brand you can find at Spec’s, Total Wine, and on Amazon. Other spirits I’ve tried that taste great are Bax Botanics Lemon Verbena and Seedlip Grove 42.

  • Kin Euphorics Kin Spritz
This ingredient is my triple sec replacement. It has the orange and citrus flavor you want from triple sec without the alcohol and overly sweet and syrupy taste. It also has adaptogens which promotes calmness and can help with relaxation. I found this brand at my local H-E-B. You can also find it on Amazon.

  • Sparkling or mineral water
Use your favorite sparkling water for this recipe. Mine is S. Pellegrino.

A note about the recipe

Before we dive into the recipe, I want to take moment to share something important: while I have a dietician who helps with my personal health and wellness goals, I am not one myself. Because of this, I don’t provide detailed nutrition facts or count calories for my recipes. I hope you can understand - it’s important for me to stay within my lane as a creator and make it known that I’m not a trained professional in this field.

That said, I do my best to offer rough estimates of serving sizes. However, these are based on how I enjoy these recipes and it may not align perfectly with your preferences or needs. If precise nutritional information is essential to you, trust, I understand! I’ll always include measurements for all the ingredients, so you’re welcome to calculate the details that matter most to you.
